About us

Netgen IT Solutions has been based in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, since 2014. We build websites, portals, mobile apps and the security and hosting infrastructure behind them — for government departments, enterprise teams and smaller businesses across India, the USA, Canada, Europe and Australia.

Where we are

Our office is on the third floor of Block 24 in the STPI complex at Kasumpti, Shimla. That matters more than it sounds. A lot of the work we take on is for Himachal Pradesh state departments, and being able to sit in a room with the people who own a process — rather than gathering requirements over email from a metro office with a Himachal line on the website — is most of why those projects land.

The people writing the code are the people you meet. Our team is permanent staff in Shimla, not a rotating cast of contractors assembled per project.

How we work

We scope against what a department or enterprise reviewer will actually check, not what looks good in a pitch. That means asking for the real requirements and constraints before design starts, mapping every screen and approval step so there are no surprises once build starts, and running design and development together against that plan rather than a static mockup.

Security auditing, performance testing and accessibility checks happen before a release ships, as part of delivery — not as a change request once something has gone wrong in production.

What we build

Six things, and they overlap more than they look like they do:

Most engagements start with one and end up needing two or three. A department portal needs hosting, a security audit and someone to answer the phone in year four — so we would rather own that whole span than hand it to a third party and hope.

Who we build for

Startups and small businesses need the same things a government department does — a site or system that works on the first try and keeps working after launch. We take on web, mobile, AI and automation work for both, sized to what the client is actually running rather than a one-size-fits-all package — see the industries we build for most.

What happens after launch

We run managed hosting with defined uptime targets, and annual maintenance contracts that cover the system rather than a ticket allowance. Most of what we built a decade ago is still ours to look after, which is the part of this business that would fall over first if the work were not built properly the first time.

Training, and the ITIs

We run our training and internship programme under the name LearnSmart HP — web development, design, apps, SEO and machine learning, taught on live client projects by the developers who ship them.

In 2019 we signed memoranda of understanding with the Industrial Training Institutes at Shimla and Sunni, covering curriculum review, faculty exchange, joint projects and workshops. Industrial training and internships run from the same office as the client work, on purpose.
