COVID-19 population screening

A public health service provider needed a solution to examine and capture data on select parameters for identifying the vulnerability of an approximately 1,00,00,000-strong population to specific diseases. The platform had to collect that data from over 600 sub-health centres, through around 10,000 health workers, in the field. It’s the kind of build we still take on for government departments and healthcare providers today.

The brief came with real constraints: a one-month data-collection window, patchy network coverage at remote centres, and a fixed budget. We ran design and build in parallel to hit the deadline, and gave the mobile app offline storage with background sync so a dropped connection in a remote centre didn’t mean lost data. Every submission moved over a secured connection, and the app and web portal were tested across browsers and vendor devices before rollout.
